Prior to World War II and the communist era, Eastern Europe was quite a wealthy and developed place. One can still see the past glory of cities such as Prague in the form of magically beautiful buildings and architecture. Judging by some of the artists whose works are depicted here, it seems that they had a great fondness for Rubenesque females. That the voluptuous female was seen as the most beautiful was typical in much of the world prior to the present period.
